Western Corridor Advisor
When Michelle walked into Community Food Co-op in Bozeman, Montana fourteen years ago, she knew she was home. Her passion for good food and sustainable businesses, as well as her abiding love for nature and the outdoors came together and found inspiration working at the co-op. She spent ten years in Bozeman in various roles including stocker, cashier, scan manager and store manager. While working as scan manager, she helped shape and execute the co-op’s pricing strategy by developing and implementing systems and tools that managed pricing and margin for maximum efficiency. She also worked closely with purchasing staff to drive category management, assisted the co-op in opening a small warehouse, overseeing its inventory and transfer of product, and helped open and manage the co-op’s second location. In 2013, Michelle joined NCG as a business manager on the NCG/UNFI relationship before transferring to her current role as western corridor advisor for NCG’s co-op development team. She now works directly with co-op general managers to guide them to NCG resources and opportunities that will help them improve their operations, efficiency and success. In her free time, she enjoys being up in the mountains, in the garden, on the dancefloor or traveling to a new and exciting destination.
