Brittany Baird is a consultant with CDS Consulting Coop, who has dedicated her life’s work to assisting natural foods store and food co-operatives. Since her first job sweeping the floor of the local health food store, Brittany has been building an in-depth understanding of the inner workings of the natural food industry. Over her career, Brittany has worked as store manager of Big Bear Natural Foods, in Pa, grocery manager of Weavers Way Co-op in Philadelphia, PA, and general manager of the Belfast Food Co-op in Maine, Creekside Food Co-op in Pa, and New Orleans Food Co-op. She currently works with CDS Consulting Co-op as a Management and Operations consultant. As a consultant, Brittany specializes in working with businesses focused on financial turn around, organizational growth, or navigating sudden management transitions. Additionally, Brittany offers Cooperative Customer Service trainings that provide a customized approach to training co-op staff, focused on the unique challenges surrounding the membership model and the need to differentiate in our competitive marketplace.
Over her career, Brittany has worked as grocery manager of Weavers Way Co-op in Philadelphia, PA as well as general manager of Belfast Food Co-op in Maine, Creekside Food Co-op in Pennsylvania and New Orleans Food Co-op in Louisiana. Brittany specializes in working with co-ops who need assistance navigating sudden management transitions, improving net profit and sales growth, or developing plans for operational efficiency. Brittany also works as a General Manager coach, helping to guide our co-op leaders to success in an increasingly competitive market. Brittany has also worked extensively with boards of directors and co-op staff, facilitating critical conversations, and encouraging growth through the mediation of conflicting viewpoints. She uses her strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization to work toward common goals.
